We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher to join the staff of this happy and forward thinking school. NQTs to UPS teachers are welcome to apply and part-time contracts will be considered. We are keen to appoint the right person to initially work in lower key stage 2.

Job Purpose

To carry out professional duties of a teacher as circumstances require and in accordance with school’s polices under the direction of the Headteacher.
To be responsible for the teaching and learning in a specific class.

Teaching and Learning
• Teach allocated pupils by planning for learning to achieve progress.
• Identify SEN and adapt teaching to support learning.
• Make effective use of assessment to support learning.
• Ensure coverage of the curriculum.
• Support school’s behaviour policy and promote positive behaviour.

Working with Others
• Contribute to medium and short term planning of year group.
• Line manage other adults working in the classroom to ensure they support learning.
• Contribute to development and review of school’s curriculum.
• Adhere to all school policies as agreed by governing body.

Westwood Primary School is a member of Fenland and East Cambridgeshire Opportunity Area and as such an incentive allowance of up to £10,000 is available to be spent on a number of initiatives for candidates joining the profession or moving from outside the Fenland and East Cambridgeshire area.  This can be discussed further at interview.
